Bo Coleson was presently promoted to Police Chief, and his brother Drake also works with him as an officer for the SBPD. The Crawfords are a wealthier family that have resided in the area for four generations now. They own many business in the area, including Monica Crawford's cosmetics line. Monica intensified the feud between the two families and shocked many when she announced that she was carrying Bo Coleson's child in 2001. Although her scheme included her artificially inseminating herself with Bo's sperm, it was later revealed in the series that her husband Sam was the child's actual father. Still to this day, the secret is only Monica's as she does all she can to maintain the fact that Bo is Sarah's father.
Sam and Monica's son, Adam, revealed he was gay in 2000 and soon started dating Tony Maravalli. While his parents weren't very accepting, his sister Kaylee and Tony were his rock as he went through the process of accepting himself and finding a new identity.
After a horrible fight with Tony and getting quite drunk many years ago, Adam cheated by sleeping with his friend Brian (who was also in a relationship at the time). While the two couples, Adam/Tony and Brian/Noah, were all once great friends, the revelation has since created issues of trust in the group. Currently Adam and Tony are doing all they can to adopt, but they are quickly learning that they will need the support of others.
There are other characters in the series who are connected with the Crawford and Coleson families in one way or another.
