Scene: The Crawford Estate.

"What in the hell is she doing here?" Monica locks eyes with her son.

"Mom, she had no where else to go…I didn’t think it would be a problem. There’s more than enough food."

"There’s a reason that she has no where to go…" Monica mutters as she pulls her blonde hair behind her ears.

"Why thank you for the holiday cheer, Monica." Dinah produces a grim smile.

"Mom, please….will you just put aside your differences for one day? After all that’s happened, it would really make my day if Dinah could join us."

"Don’t you dare use the tragedy that has just occurred as an excuse for your temporary insanity. Bringing this woman into my home is out of the question."

"Come on Monica, lets move on and keep whatever has happened between us in the past."

"In the past? I’m sure you’re still terrorizing the residents of this City like you have been for ages…she is not to be trusted, Adam."

"Look Mom, she’s really helping us with something. I can’t get into detail about what exactly, but trust me, she’s really changed." Adam whispers to his mother after dragging her into the next room.

"God Adam, I don’t want you to get hurt. The woman is mentally unstable."

"And you’re not?" Adam smiles sarcastically.

"Nice one, Adam."

The two are suddenly interrupted when the front door once again opens. Sam is standing in the doorway with another person that Monica can barely make out from down the hall.

"Looks like Nick." Adam blurts out.

"You have to be kidding me? You have to be freakin’ kidding me! This is turning out to be a nightmare…"

"Look mom, you really need to get over your differences with people. I’m sure dad had a good reason for bringing him. I mean, he was dating Kaylee for over a year. He’s practically a part of this family."

"He also might be the reason why Kaylee is not longer with us…"

"Mom, don’t say things like that. Come on now…it’s Thanksgiving. Can you please just get along with everyone for one day?"

Monica rolls her eyes. The last thing she needs is to be chastised by her son. She marches off towards the kitchen and leaves Adam alone. He quickly walks back to the doorway to greet his father and Nick.

"Hey Dad! I see you brought Nick….good call. How’s it going, Nick?"

"I’ve had better days. I’m just grateful that your dad ran into me…I guess I didn’t really have any plans for the holiday and I’m glad to be here with you guys."

"Well, fasten your seatbelt," Dinah cuts in. "It’s going to be a fun ride with the Crawfords…"
