Scene: The Coleson Residence.
A look of disappointment covers Luke’s face as he walks into his childhood home. He always knows the one person who can turn that frown upside down. Indeed, it is his mother who he continually goes to whenever he has any kind of problem- whether it be with a girlfriend, or otherwise. "Well Luke, I’m proud of you. I’m glad you stood up for what you believe is right and I’m sure she’ll come around. You know, when your father and I first met we really rushed into things. I mean, I was pregnant with you and Leslie within a year of meeting him. Now don’t get me wrong- I wouldn’t change a thing of the past and thank God I have you two, but I can appreciate someone’s yearning to take their time. Your father and I really had to rush the marriage and getting a house and I’ll admit that it was a bit stressful at the time."
"Luke!" Lindsey calls out in excitement when she seems him walking into the kitchen. "I’m so happy to see you. I didn’t know you were coming over."
"I was in the area and I just needed to see you.."
"What’s wrong, hon? Sit down and I’ll let you taste this pumpkin pie I just made. I think you’ll love it!"
"Thanks, Mom….you always know how to put a smile on my face. However, I’m not really sure a piece of pie will help this time…"
"Oh? What’s exactly on your mind? Is there something I can help you with?" Lindsey inquires.
"I don’t know if it’s anything you can fix, Mom. It’s Veronica…we had this really awkward conversation about marriage and having a family and it just seems like we’re on two totally different pages. I want to wait until I get this promotion and save up a good amount of money. She just wants to rush into everything now…I just don’t think it’s a wise choice to do that."

"At the time? I don’t think the stress ever subsided, Mom."
"I agree…but you know what? With all the things your father and I have been through, I love him more than ever and we appreciate each other for our different views on things. You need to do the same thing with Veronica- you’re not always going to agree on things, but you need to take those differences of opinions and cherish them."
