Scene: Dinah Maravalli's home.

"Good to see you again, gram." Tony greets her with a hug.

"Glad to see you as well, my dear. Please come in. Have a seat and make yourself comfortable."

"Thanks."

"Can I get you a drink? You were always a Jager fan, am I right?"

Tony shakes his head and smiles. He still can't believe some of the things that come out of her mouth. He remembers her offering him alcohol when he was sixteen. He does find some comfort in the fact that some things never change.

"I'm okay, gram. Not on a work night."

"Well, suit yourself." Dinah replies as she pours herself a drink.

"So you said you had something important to talk to me about?"

"Oh yes! Well, I've been doing a lot of thinking about your relationship with Adam and what you guys were wanting. "

"As in a new house?" Tony inquires.

"As in the adoption." Dinah raises a brow.

"Yes, and how impossible it is for a gay couple to adopt in Florida? I'm not sure there is much you can do, gram."

"Don't underestimate me. I have always come through for you, right?"

"Yes, you have."

"I know someone who is pregnant and she's looking for a good couple to raise her child. She's wanting to give the child up for adoption, but I convinced her to set something up without all the paperwork. I told her all about you and Adam and she's eager to meet you."

Tony takes a few moments to digest this information. It seems like a dream come true, but perhaps it was only that- a dream that could become a nightmare in reality.

"I don't think Adam's going to go for something without all the necessary paperwork, gram. I mean, all parties need to protect themselves and what's not to say that this woman isn't going to try and take the child back at some point. Did you think about that possibility? Without any legal paperwork, she would have the right to do that."

"Well, life is about risks. Sometimes you have to take a risk and go into something that you might be unsure of to really reap the benefits."

"I don't know, gram. I really appreciate it, but-"

Dinah quickly interrupts after taking another sip of her drink. "Not one more word. Just think about how bad you and Adam want to raise a child and look at your current options- or lack thereof. Think of how hard, nearly impossible it is to adopt here. You have a lot to think about. I told the young girl I would give her an answer by the end of the week. Discuss things with Adam and get back to me, okay?"

"Okay, gram…I just don't-"

"Ah! I said not another word! Go home and digest your food. Let me know when you've made a decision with Adam. I really do want the best for you and I wouldn't get you guys into a situation that would be harmful. Just trust me, okay?"
