Bio:

All Rick ever wanted was to become a man with his own image. Raised in a tight-knit community where his Father was held high as an esteemed Lawyer by all, it seemed that Ricks future was predetermined by those around him before he could make sense of it all. Pressured to follow in the Family footsteps and practice Law with his Father, Rick hesitantly went to Law School and did so.

Always having an admiration for those who worked in child development, Rick had always yearned to teach a career that would prove more noble and rewarding than many of the cases he would have to represent in his feared future. In the last year or so, tension has mounted at an all-time high between his Father and he, even threatening to leave the practice altogether on more than one occasion. Even so, his Father Jonathan keeps a tight watch over Ric's every step, and provides all a son could ever dream for in materialistic possessions. Of course, Rick is learning one of lifes golden rules... that being, you could have everything in the world that money can buy; internal happiness comes at a much steeper price tag though.

For the past year he has also has enjoyed a mostly blissful, although sometimes quite turbulent, relationship with heiress Kayla Landon. Their initial problems were not only at the jealous hands of Kimberly Summers, but most notably by one simple fact:

The Landon and the Preston families absolutely despise one another.

Reeling from the constant hatred displayed by both Emily Landon and Jonathan Preston, the two knew they would have to fight to keep the love they were developing for each other. The climax came when it was revealed upon investigation last Spring that Jonathan Preston actually had a hand in the death of Kaylas Father, Miles Landon. After heartache and anger ensued thereafter, the two eventually came to terms that they could never change the past, nor those they were tied to by blood.

In early 2008 it was revealed that his new wife Kayla was indeed pregnant. The two prepared for their first child by purchasing a new home together a modest three bedroom, compared to the much larger estates they were both used to.
